"I have a boat with dual Chrysler inboard 360 longblocks. I don't know the year of the engines but they are recently rebuilt, older engines.

The boat sat for two years so I decided to rebuild the Holley Carbs. One of the engines starts fine, idles fine, revs....but will just die for no apparent reason after running for a few minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!"

"I just wanted to add that when I start it and let it run for a bit, during which time it runs great, after it dies, it can be really hard to restart. Also, I can start it and it'll fire right up, then if I shut it off and go to restart it, I won't be able to get it started again."

"I suspect either the carb is flooding, or the choke isn't opening. The latter problem is obvious--pull the flame arrestor and see if the choke opened. The flooding issue can be determined by a little test: Warm the motor thoroughly, then slowly close the idle adjustment screws. If the motor continues to run, it's flooding. If it tries to stall, it's not.
