"OK fella's I'm getting closer to putting the 120hp motor in the 18ft Rinker. The 470 is out I will be picking up the alpha flywheel cover tomorrow to match it with the 1986 alpha. the old 120hp started right up on the stand and ran pretty good..The prop that I had on the 470, 184p alpha drive was 14 1/2 by 17. with the gearing and the smaller motor, can anyone steer me in the right direction as to the prop size that ill need....Ray"
 
i'm no prop expert. but my

i'm no prop expert. but my feeling is ya should start with where yer at. yer 17p. ya've gone down in hp so ya may need to change prop. but yer not gonna know which way to go until ya try something out. your looking for being at the high side of your wot spec. so after ya try yer 17p and see what your wot rpm is. then ya will have some info to base a new choice of prop on..
