"I just picked up an old Arena

"I just picked up an old Arena Craft and am trying to figure out which y-block it has, a 292 or 312, the serial # on the front timing cover is 5647. Any help would be great, thanks.

If that is the entire SN??? It should be a 55
& could be either a 272 or 292. I admit this
reply is merely based on what i've read right
here in this forum - so is in no way intended
to look like i know the answer. Let me add
that usually there are a few prefix digits in
the SN.

"Thanks for the reply, since posting the question I have removed the engine from the boat and identified the block casting # which is ECG, making it a '55-'57 272ci dearborn casting. I am curious however, it has the large valve heads, ECZ-G, and I did not think that the 272 came with these, guessing they had been changed sometime in it's life.
