1998 OMC 57L Timing

I have a 1998 OMC 5.7L (2B

I have a 1998 OMC 5.7L (2B Carb) model 572BPBYC and there is only a V notch which I believe is the 0 degree reference point. How do set the timimg to 8 degrees BTDC without any other markings? Is there a timing sticker/stamp that is missing?

"Hi Walt, I'd recommend checking with a local auto speed shop or auto parts store and see if they can get you some timing tape, you just need to know the Damper diameter, the other option is to get a timing light that has a timing adjustment on it."

Do above calculation on the vibration damper, make a new mark, and You may adjust to 8 degrees."
 
timing tape is $15 in Canada &

timing tape is $15 in Canada & well worth it to check your total timing after initial is set. I found I was missing 12deg of advance by using this & helped me optimize my top end performance safely.
