"I am getting ready to pull the heads off a M440B that has a dead cylinder. It ran OK even with the dead cylinder but had low temps, took forever to get to 160. Other issue is high oil pressure, nearly pegged guage at 80psi. Any suggestions?

Low temp = higher oil pressure

Low temp = higher oil pressure. Just that simple.
If it is a reman engine? More then likley your builder installed a high volume pump.
My 360 peggs the gage cold 80+ at idle
60 after 160 warm up. It has a high volume pump.
compared to my standard pump 60 cold 15 warm.
Thermostat ?
