"Chrysler M440s with Carter AFBs. After running the boat getting engines hot, back at the dock with machinery off and blower ran for a while, I can get a whiff of raw fuel (no visible leaks). I know the argument on Edelbrocks but it's not in this year's budget. Is the smell indicative of a carb rebuild? Is the fuel dripping down the throat? My consumption is not out of the ordinary and engines fire off when cold.

Thanks"

"Fuel fumes in bildge = Danger

"Fuel fumes in bildge = Danger/poss death.
Find it, fix it,or park it.
Are you running full tanks? poss sloshing from vents? Carfully check all fittings,
filters, hoses,fuel pumps,ect.
flooding carb would most often show unstable idle or stalling at idle.
Let me know
David"
