"I have a DF300 and on friday,

"I have a DF300 and on friday, every once in a blue moon it would not shift into forward gear but, it would go in reverse all the time. I know the DF300 is electronic shift on the fly. IS the problem usually in the throttle handle with that switch or in the engine. Any information would be great and would like to buy a back up part since it looks like it is a simple fix."

"I would say that the problem lies in the actuator in the engine. Mine went bad two months ago and had to be replaced. However, it could also be the shifter. Mine wouldn't do anything but start and idle. As soon as you shifted it, it would alarm like crazy. There is a recall for 07 actuators. They told me mine was replaced already when I purchased the boat and motor new in 08, but they lied. It was not replaced and eventually failed."
