I have been using 30 weight mo

I have been using 30 weight motor oil in my engines which is reccomended in the owners manual. I used to have merc crusers and they went up to straight 40 weight. Is there any problem using straight 40 weight oil in the chryslers.

"Yes. More oil pressure than you need is not good on the gears in the distributor drive, and it wastes gas. Unless the engine is worn, 10 W 30 will give you all the pressure you need, which is about 10 psi per 1,000 rpms.
