"You probably have a set of points in there. That amplifier box and coil did not tolerate a reverse battery "touch" at all.

See if you have 12vt going to the terminal bar and does it get to the amplifier? Next take the wire off your distributor and ground it to the block with a sparkie tester on the coil.(you can actually hear it if you rotate the flywheel till one of the contacts line up) If it sparks, you have a problem with the switch or the points. Very important to set wot timing to no more than 24 degrees. The decal and pointer are often wrong."
