"I have a stripped thread in the intake manifold of my Chris-Craft KL. It is located just above the downdraft carb flange, outboard side (the 1/8" X 27-thd. bronze plug hole). Not sure what this plug does, it appears there are a couple of vents/arched openings into the waterjacket at the bottom of the female threaded plug hole. Can I drill out and re-tap to a larger plug? I don't want to interfere with the purpose/function of this manifold plug. What should be done to facilitate repair??"
