a couple more questions
what's the difference between the 292 and the 312
and on my head there is a number c or 0 4363
and also i know that lincoln made the 431 out of a small block ford from 1960-1965 and from what block i don't know.. i understand they threw a different set of heads on it to make it a 431...
thanks for the quick response

"Lincoln made a 331 Y block that is often
mistaken for the Ford Y block - but I doubt
any parts will interchange. Lincoln made a
430 that could never be mistaken for either
Y block. bore & stroke comprise displacement
while heads comprise compression ratio &
breathabilty.

The 292 has a smaller bore & stroke than the
312. Because the main bearings are larger on
the 312, the crankshafts aren't interchangable.
All else is interchangable between the 292 & 312.
Well, rods are a different length & pistons need
to match cylinder bore. Some parts are better
than others for performance as well."

I don't think Interceptor ever used the 430 or 431.

That is a MEL engine, and Interceptor used the old small Y block, or the big Y block called the FE series, in a vairety of sizes including but not necessarily limited to the 352, 361, 390, and 427
