"Sonny,

At the very least I would want a compression check on all cylinders and with motors of that vintage I would also get the engine oil analyzed. This is cheap money about $50.00 per/engine but it can tell you a lot about the condition of the internals of those engines. Any good surveyor should be able to send the oil off for you.

"FWC or raw water cooled? How long since the exhaust manifolds/risers were changed? Risers need to be replaced periodically. with most engines, exhaust risers need to be replaced within 3-5 years in seawater use. Crusader FWC risers can last ten years or more. These engines are approaching 20 years old.

here a two good articles for you to read.

"I'm gonna get beat up again for saying this, but... That's a slow, gas hog of a boat with a super floorplan. If you do more sitting than cruising it can't be beat. But if you're the type (like me) that loves to cruise, prepare for some huge gas bills.

Sorry, but that's the way I see it.

Jeff"
