"HELP... NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE 4.3. WHAT ALL HAS TO BE REMOVED, OR DISCONECTED......."

"The outdrive needs to come of

"The outdrive needs to come off, the shift cable, boat harness needs to be unplugged, all of the hoses that connect the motor to the boat (leave them on the boat, just remove them from the motor), main battery and ground cables and the power steering pump needs to come off and moved out of the way (so you don't need to have fluid all ove the bilge). You should be able to leave the motor mounts in place- that way, you won't have as much to do when you realign it, which needs to be done. There's a special tool for this.

You'll also need to remove any interior parts that could be in the way when the motor lifts out. If you have access to a chain hoist or motor hoist that's tall enough, you shouldn't have any problem. If the hoist is close but not quite tall enough, you can remove the wheels and make it work. Get some protective sheeting for the carpet and put a few layers of tarp tape on the gunwales to keep them from being gouged when the motor moves over them, as well as when you're going in/out while doing this job.

Great time to clean the bilge, too."

WELL IM WELL ON MY WAY.. MOST

WELL IM WELL ON MY WAY.. MOST EVERYTHING IS OFF OF ENGINE. INTERIOR IS ALSO REMOVED. HAVE A TALL ENOUGH CHAIN HOIST. HOW DOES THE OUTDRIVE COME OFF ??

"Make sure the shifter is in n

"Make sure the shifter is in neutral. Remove the nuts at the end of the trim rams and silde the shaft out, then remove the 6 lock nuts holding the drive to the transom mount and pull the drive off slowly, try to have the skeg sitting on something so your not holding all the weight and with your your 3rd hand (or a friend) grab the drive shaft after the u-joints so it doesn't just fall under it's own weight."

"ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN A GREAT

"ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN A GREAT HELP. SOUNDS EASY. FINAL QUESTION FOR NOW. THERE IS A GOOD FOOT CLEARANCE IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE TO COME FORWARD, SO IS REMOVAL OF OUTDRIVE NEEDED ??"

"Yes, the outdrive needs to co

"Yes, the outdrive needs to come off. For more info, buy a good manual and it'll help when you need tips in a hurry."

"Technically if you have that

"Technically if you have that much room to slide it forward then you wouldn't have to take the drive off HOWEVER you have to take it off later anyway when you put the engine back in, it must be aligned from outside the transom through the gimbal into the engine coupler using the alignment tool. Might as well take it off first and get it out of the way."
