"The outdrive needs to come off, the shift cable, boat harness needs to be unplugged, all of the hoses that connect the motor to the boat (leave them on the boat, just remove them from the motor), main battery and ground cables and the power steering pump needs to come off and moved out of the way (so you don't need to have fluid all ove the bilge). You should be able to leave the motor mounts in place- that way, you won't have as much to do when you realign it, which needs to be done. There's a special tool for this.
You'll also need to remove any interior parts that could be in the way when the motor lifts out. If you have access to a chain hoist or motor hoist that's tall enough, you shouldn't have any problem. If the hoist is close but not quite tall enough, you can remove the wheels and make it work. Get some protective sheeting for the carpet and put a few layers of tarp tape on the gunwales to keep them from being gouged when the motor moves over them, as well as when you're going in/out while doing this job.
Great time to clean the bilge, too."
