i have a 84 sea ray seville with a mer 140 i want to swap engines. i would like to put a 4.3 in it how much trouble will it be and what change do i need to make to my stern drive as far as gears.

"Should be a Alpha 1 (gen 1). The gear ratios will be different. The ratio and engine combinations are listed in the front of the merc manuals. Engine mounts? Propeller? Shift controls? Not sure what else is different.

Unless you have a marine 4.3 completely dressed with manifolds, heat exchanger, alternator, starter, engine coupler, engine mounts... this project might not be worth the time/money/energy for such an old boat. My thoughts."
