Setting points on an older 40hp

"Hi there, could anyone offer some advice as to the proper method of setting the points (contact breakers) on an older petrol, twin cylinder, yamaha 40hp electric start.

The gap is 0.0014 I am told but as to the method of setting I am lost.

On the flywheel there are two diagonal marks, one is simply a line the other is a line with a V coming off the end.
I dont know what cylider is number one and which is number two either.

Any help would be very welcome.

"u need to find the points first
u need a feeler guage
u rotate the distributor so the points are fully open, the put in the feeler guage and then adjust

i would switch over to electronic ignition
like pertronix or a crane system"
