"I have a couple of Mallory distributors that don't have any protectors over the hole in the side, making them dangerous for igniting any stray gasoline fumes. Does anyone know where I can get the proper protector covers?

Get the distributor cap and rotor from a marine engine shop. Match according to engine type. Sounds like GM type cap. You are wise to be aware of spark hazard.

"Eddie,
I didn't make myself clear. The hole that I'm trying to protect is in the base of the distributor. The distributor is a Mallory on 327 chevy engine with a "flat' distributor cap.
Do youknow where I can get the screen, or whatever it is, that prevents the fumes from igniting through the breather hole in the side of the distributor?
