"I have a Volvo factory rebuilt AQ130C (purchased in 2002) and I've always wondered if I should be using a lead fuel additive since the basic AQ130C engine model was developed when leaded fuel was the standard. Or was something incorporated into the engine rebuild that would allow it to use unleaded fuel? When I bought the engine and had it installed, the Volvo dealer did not say anything about what kind of fuel I should use. Right now, I use 91 octane unleaded and add octane booster to every tank to stop it from slightly pinging at high RPMs (despite the ignition timing being set correctly), and the engine runs great but I'm concerned about any long term affects of not using lead in the fuel."
