"for starts, having trouble finding a compete boat repair manual for my boat, its a 4 cyclinder (2) single barrel carb. guessing its an inboard/outboard, how do i know what model it is. I have a few problems, maybe if i had a manual could fix them. steering pulls hard to the left, the prop, comes up and starts bouncing when i put it reverse, and what kind of trolling plate/hydrofoils can i use? sure could use the info."

"Regarding repair manuals, I have found that the Seloc and Clymer's shop manuals cover everything you will need to carry your own repairs/maintenance.

Regarding the model, your engine should have a nameplate riveted to the block, either above the starter or between the distributor and the fuel pump. If the engine is the original one that came with the boat, and based in your description, I think you may have an AQ130 . Go to the Volvo Penta website and download the brochures for the AQ130A and see if they match what you have.

If the steering pulls to the left, then adjust the exhaust outlet slightly to the left (part number 4 in the following link)

If the outdrive comes out when going into reverse, your retaining pawl mechanism may be seized, or it may be worn, or parts may be missing (springs, etc). The Seloc and Clymer manuals tell you how to overhaul, repair and assemble the retaining pawl mechanism.

Regarding hydrofoils, the best I have used in Volvo units with 250/270 outdrives has been the Stingray.
