"My starting rope doesn't

"My starting rope doesn't return when cranked. I can wind it back, or use the emergency rope.

I suspect this problem is the spring. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to change this? Or should I have a pro do it?"
 
Go buy the complete recoil ass

Go buy the complete recoil assy. It's cheaper than paying a shop to rebuild yours.
 
"If you're bored - rebuild

"If you're bored - rebuild the one you got. If the anchoring is the only broken piece on the spring, bend a new one. Just be carefull; the spring needs to pre-loaded before you reassemble."
