1987 150VRO Erude coughing and killing at low idle

"Just got my motor back from t

"Just got my motor back from the dealer for water in a cylinder. Fixed that by replacing the exhaust plate gasket. Compression is good in all @ 105 psi. Now the thing won't idle and coughs and kills unless I get on it. When I open it up, it runs great.
Do I need to rebuild carbs or Where should I start?"

"Morten, Guess I'm new at outboards. Been playing with Harley's for better than 20 years though. How would I go about checking the engin temp? Don't have an external gage on the boat. It's an '87 Ranger.
