"I recently purchased a 1990 Four Winns project boat and need some help figuring out the engine rotation direction. I decoded the OMC engine model number and it only tells me the prop rotation is right hand. According to the data plate, it is a 1989 model year engine (the engine was disassembled when I bought the boat and I do not have the block). I do not want to build up a standard rotation (left - counterclockwise) engine to find out that it needed to be reverse rotation. I do not yet have a service manual but am ordering one in the next few days. Thanks."
