"I am trying to sort out the options I have for power in a 1962 seaskiff. The current original motor is a 283 with the flywheel forward. I have removed the heads, manifolds etc. I am unsure of the condition of the short block- it maybe cracked. Is it possible to swap the parts onto a newer 305 short block? I am not sure about the rotation direction. The firing order is something like 1-3-5 etc. Does this indicate a non std rotation. If so can I just swap the cam into the new block. I think I need a diagram from chris craft that shows rotation and cylinder location."
