I have a 26' Campion with

I have a 26' Campion with a 350 w/Volvo Penta.the outdrive died and the engine is real tired.I'm replacing it with a 496 Mercruiser Bravo 2.I was wondering who makes a 496?Am I going to be able to ski?How much horsepower does it have?

"The 496 is a derivitive of the 454 chevy. It's most common iteration has 425hp although it has been produced with higher or lower hp. Get the ser. # and you can find out. Is your boat a cabin cruiser? If so, bravo 2 is ok, BravoIII is great. If it's a lighter boat you may wish to try for a bravo I."
