Incorrect Tachometer reading

My tachometer seems to be reading about 1K rpm high and was wondering if the AQ125B used a tachometer sender or if the tach was bad? If it does use a sender, how do I determine where the problem is?

"The tach gets the reading fro

"The tach gets the reading from the number of pulses from the ignition coil. However, tachometers have a switch to select 4, 6, 8 cylinders (and sometimes 2 or 4 stroke). Make sure you have the correct setting.

A bad connection can also give you incorrect (high) readings.

Don't loose your hope. Worst case scenario, tachometers are affordable.
