"I have one on my 4.3L Cobra. I cant really make a comparison to the original since I did it along with a few other performance upgrades. However, just looking at the K&N design it is bound to provide better air flow over the original flame arrestor which can only be a good thing."

"If you add a free flowing K&a

"If you add a free flowing K&N.. on let's say an '88 OMC 4.3 V6... wouldn't you have to readjust or rejet the carb for the extra air flow? I've been thinking about adding a K&N as well, but looking at the stock flam arrester, the air flow changes could be dramatic..."

"K&N makes no difference o

"K&N makes no difference on a boat and it takes 5 seconds for anyone to prove it.. here's how.

Get your wife to drive the boat.
While underway, remove the stock oem flame arrester from the carb.

Did you accelerate?

Of course not....

a stock flame arrester offers no restriction to air flow. If it does, it simply needs cleaning."
