"Hello.
I have a 1990 15HP Johnson pull start mounted to a small skiff with one of those rubber antivibration pads over the transom. The engine seems to run great but the engine sends a shock to the operator through the throttle grip when it's wet, or from around the kill button. I thought it might have been caused by a loose spark plug wire arcing or something, but everything seems in place.

Has anyone ever heard of a stray voltage or current situation like this? I'm not sure how much current flows through the kill button wires, but I wondered if that could be the source?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eugene"

"It is caused by a short/leaka

"It is caused by a short/leakage in the stop switch. It runs around 220V to the switch, but low amps! Check the switch wireing, and probably You may have to replace the kill switch."
