"I just bought a 1987 ranger with a 150hp v6. At first it ran good. It started loosing power and wasn't running good. I pulled the plugs and found water in #6 cylinder. I noticed a few exhaust plate bolts were loose. I took it back to the dealer and told him what I found. He has replaced the head gasket and is now replacing the exhaust plate gasket. Could water get into the cylinder if it was a bad exhaust plate gasket?
They did tell me after they replaced the head gasket, compression was at 105 in all cylinders. I just want to make sure I'm not going to get hosed.

Thank you for the reply Joe. I feel much better. I know what you mean about honest dealers. Hard to find these days.
I picked it up last night and ran it. It's all good!!
My son just got back from Iraqi and now he can fish his butt off with his dad all weekend!!
