I have a 312 interceptor # ECZ

I have a 312 interceptor # ECZ6015C does any one know what the rotation may be or how to detrmine the rotation of it?

That looks like a Ford casting

That looks like a Ford casting number. The
Interceptor SN is on the timong cover (at least
on the Y blocks) From what a member here has
shared - There will be an L or an R in that SN
indicating direction. I believe L is standard
rotation. From looking at my manual it would
appear that the oposite rotation engine does not
use a timing chain but rather strait gears.
Hope this helps.

"easiest way to make a quick check is to take the raw water pump belt off and see which way the pump turns easy. Thy it a little clockwise and a little counterclockwise. It will always go easiest in the direction of rotation because the impeller blades have taken a set. If it is a gear pump it will be quieter in the correct rotation. If you take out the fuel pump and look in the hole with a light, you should see if it is a timing chain set up or a timing gear set up. If you see a chain, it is a normal rotation engine."
