"When I changed impeller , at the upper gearcase housing and exhaust housing there was no gasket?when looking at old outbourd service manual exploded view of lower unit assembly it does'nt show one is this corret? Metal to metal ? thanks,9.2hp. 1969? vwb29909a 96x what does the 96x mean? Have not used in long time but it was fast on 12' sea king alum. boat."
 
No gaskets between gearcase an

No gaskets between gearcase and leg is normal. Isn't required to be water tight...seal on drive shaft keeps water out of gearcase.

"9.2 sea king 1969 ,I put new impeller in but no water is comeing out. I took a bit of rubber out of the pump,, where should I look next for a plug?"
 
check the tube from water pump

check the tube from water pump to motor. I did'nt push the tube back in to the water pump when I bolted the lower unit back on. I ask and anser my own questons.
