I have a 82 searay the mechanic working on the manifold problem called and said that the hull sounded hollow. so how do I test for dryrot and how to fix the problem.
On my sailboat there was a injectable epoxy to use

"Tap with a small hammer, should sound crisp/sharp not a dull thud. Its common for stringers, decks and transoms to get water penatration and rot. Low end boats of lesser quality more so. Also boats that spend much of their lives in areas of high humidity and heat are more suseptible to rot. The best fix is to remove and replace. Depending on how extensive the rot is this can sometimes mean dissembling much of the boat and rebuilding for a proper long lasting fix."
