"Barry, your Caille (pronounced with a hard "K" sound and "Ale") Redhead model will be a 1930/31 or 32 model (but I have very little info on this builder that went totally out of business in 1935).

Caille in Detroit introduced this model in 1930 and discontinued it when the depression caused them to scale back operations a couple years later in favour of the model 79.

The model 79 was named for it's price, $79 brand new, which was significantly below the $130 sticker price of the Redhead

Some models of the Redhead had a 5 speed gearbox with 2 forward, a neutral, and 2 reverse gears.

From somewhere around 1915 on, Caille bought part of their ignition systems from Evinrude, which may be present on your model.

During the same timeframe the Redhead was in production, they also produced the 6, 14 and 20 horse Motorgo line marketed by Sears.

That's about all I can tell you. The company was bought out by a company called Fuller Johnson but they let the outboard division die in the mid-1930's, although one branch of the Caille Motor Company, located in Ohio was still in production until the early 1950's, however, not producing outboards."
