"I had one of those drives behind a 454 years ago.
They were great in their day, but finding parts now would be treacherous. Even finding a prop could be a chore. 19 inch diameter!.... huge prop on the TR.

I wouldn't touch one today without a survey and water test. and the boat would have to be a super-deal.
That Merctrans uses some Ford C4 transmission discs or something... if it goes you need to find someone who knows them to rebuild.
Butter smooth shifting though.

I loved it also because my lake is mucky and the TR has no water pump in the drive so I could just plow the mud.

Many folks forget to blow water out of the trans cooler for the winter and cooler pipe ruptures."
