Mercruiser 470 wiring

"JUst bought 1984 19 foot Pant

"JUst bought 1984 19 foot Panther with the merc 470 and alpha one . Have order manuals, but till I receive them does any one have a wiring diagram as the trim harness is a mess, and ther are lose purple and brown wires beside the main circuit breaker at engine. Also what is the idle rpm and point timing?

"THE IDLE RPM IS BETWEEN 800 AND 850 RPMS. I HIGHLY RECOMEND NOT USING POINTS AND SPENDING $130 AND GETTING THE ELECTRIC IGNITION CONVERSION KIT FROM ANY MERCRUSIER DEALER. THOSE POINTS ARE A REAL PAIN, AND CAN BE QUITE AGGRAVATING. PUT THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION IN AND CALL IT GOOD!"
