"Tohatsu owner's manual recommend battery 70AH or
40AH. Will something be wrong if I hook up deep
cycle battery 200AH ?. If not,why is the battery size important and recommended by manufacturer ?."
 
As far as the engine goes it o

As far as the engine goes it only has to be a battery of the same voltage. If that engine was on a small cartopper and weight was an issue and there were no electric accessories to run...then a smaller and lighter battery would be fine. If the engine is on a larger boat as a kicker/auxilary then more battery capacity is preferred.
