Carb adjust

"guys,i put on a new 4-bbl roc

"guys,i put on a new 4-bbl rochester quadrajet with elec. choke.the choke is not closing the flap before start up.how do i adjust.also,air mixture screws are not adjusted right.need directions.thanks."

"Loosen 4 screws and turn chok

"Loosen 4 screws and turn choke as needed until it closes all but 1/8"; tighten screws.

Mixture screws are turned inward by 2 fingers until you feel a slight resistance. Then back out the screws 1.25 turns; use as a preliminary setting.

After the engine is at operating temp., turn 1 screw at a time outward SLOWLY until the engin stumbles; stop and note the position of the screw. Now turn inward past the good idle spot until it stumbles again; stop and note the screw position. Now back the screw out 1/2 the distance between the two stumble spots.

Repeat w/other screw and repeat if needed on both. Set idle speed screw to RPM spec."
