"We just bought a used boat an

"We just bought a used boat and the attached part is broken on both sides of a 4.3 V6 carbuerated mercruiser I/O. Easy enough to fix, just wondering if it is an indication of worse damage. We hooked the engine up to the hose and ran it for awhile b4 purchasing and nothing else jumped out, but we are not engine savy. Can anyone give us any idea of anything else we may need to look for.

Not sure if it was winterized or not.

"Since the blue plug is not damaged by someone using a tool to force it off, I'd say something like ice split the fitting.

There should be two more plugs lower on the sides of the block. Are they broken? If not, they may have drained the lower plugs and not the upper since they were stuck; try to loosen them."
