"I bought a 98 Bayliner 26' Rendezvous last year. The 5.7LX (not sure HP) has Edelbrock manifold and a Holly carb. It runs great. It looks stock. Is it? And if not do you think it increased HP? It also has a nose cone on a Alpha One OD, good or bad idea?"

""has Edelbrock manifold and a Holly carb. It runs great. It looks stock. Is it?"

Nope,...
Merc has Never used Edlebrock manifolds, nor Holley carbs...

"It also has a nose cone on a Alpha One OD, good or bad idea?"

If it's not causing the prop to blow out,...
I guess it's alright, although I really doubt it's any Help..."

The nose cone won't help o

The nose cone won't help or hurt on a boat that
size and relatively slow speed. Nose cones were
designed for high speed applications where the
drive was reaching blow-out speed. You will not be anywhere close to that.

You better have a closed cooli

You better have a closed cooling system or copper plating inside the water jacket on that Edelbrock intake manifold. I have seen the water jacket portion of Edelbrock intake badly corroded on cars that did not maintain proper antifreeze. You can check for copper plating or corrosion by removing thermostat housing. It could corrode through and dump water into your engine. Mercruiser used cast iron intakes.
