I've recently bought a Tohatsu M5B. Does any1 know if it is possible to convert this outboard to be able to use an external tank?.

Yes it is possible. Takes quite a few parts but it can be done. Go to internetoutboards.com website and click on the link for the parts catalogs (free pdf copies). In the 5B catalog there's a figure (#14) which shows the seperate fuel tank used in the M5BS model. The "S" model is the separate/external fuel tank model. You can use the parts books to figure out all the various bits 'n pieces needed to do it. Or just take it to a Tohatsu dealer and pay them to do it :)
