"I am getting my Dad's old

"I am getting my Dad's old 1977 120hp OMC running again after sitting for 5 years. The drive unit has a male hose bib, with a chained cap, on the right side, right about where the tilt axis is.

Is this the "run on land" water hose attachment? If so, do I need to cover the screened intake on the lower when I use it?

My old 1970 150hp v6 OMC did not have one like this.

yes

no, just turn the hose on enough it'll feed the impeller and pump towards the engine"
