Installing Gimbal Bearing

"Hi, I am getting parts togeth

"Hi, I am getting parts together to install a new Gimbal bearing in my Alpha one. Do i need to install an oil seal behind the bearing? Also are the o rings needed on the shaft under the bearing?
None of these were there when I took it apart. Please advise.

The Oil Seal keep

The Oil Seal keeps the purged Grease out of your boat,..
The O-rings keep the shaft turning With the bearing, so the shaft doesn't get scorded...

They're there for a Reason,.... I'd use them..."

When you put the gimbal in it

When you put the gimbal in it goes in with the hole on the caseing facing the grease fitting lower right you will see the hole in the housing must be lined up in order to greese properly otherwise you will be replacing it again real soon. Good luck
