"i am replacing lifters and cannot find valve sequience for setting.what is set at TDC,how many degrees turn for next set ect.what is static set for valve lash before start up and what is valve lash setting when running????also i have been told timing is 8,10&6 BTDC.WHAT IS THE TRUH???"

"Do yourself a HUGE favor and set the valves this simple, reliable way:

1. Pull plugs (makes it easier to turn the motor over).

2. Rotate crank with a socket until # 1 intake valve is WIDE open. Adjust # 1 exhaust valve (which is shut).

3. Rotate crank until # 1 exhaust valve is WIDE open. Adjust # 1 intake.

4. Go to the next cylinder and repeat the above.

FJ's suggestion is a great

FJ's suggestion is a great trick of the trade. I've used a jumper button attached to the starter to roll the motor... but wouldnt suggest that. Do yourself a huge favor and get a factory repair manual.
