whats the key to removing the

whats the key to removing the prop shaft to inspect/replace the seals?!?! can't seem to find it in my Clymer manual (or it's not very clear).
 
Remove the 4 bolts from the ca

Remove the 4 bolts from the carrier assembly. Remove carrier. Remove the 2 large snap rings that exist in back of the carrier.

Remove the shift solenoid cover. Now simply slide the propshaft out with the reverse gear etc while lifting the solenoid assembly at the same time.

Note... You'll probably need either a special puller tool or a heavy duty slide hammer to remove the carrier assembly.
 
The four bolts...the ones way

The four bolts...the ones way back in that are attained by going between the foug slots? that looks likes some type of well built carrier.

what are the threads for @ the end of the carrier on the inside of the gear case?
