Well I've got a TIRED 1300hr '86 351W. Im looking into re-ringing it and possibly a valve job this early spring. (money dependent) So my question is, since the heads will be off, how much compression can I get away with on pump gas (93 octane), without detonating? Stock iron heads. I know what I can get away with in a car, but in a boat it's got a constant cold water supply. As it runs now the motor never really gets above 120 degrees, so I'm wondering what thats worth? half a point? 3/4?
