" I am converting a 2 cylinder Mitsubishi tractor engine (KE 75) to run as a generator engine on my yacht. As I cannot get a water cooled exhaust manifold and the costs of having one made are pohibitive, I am considering wrapping the existing dry, cast manifold with insulation and just running water into the exhaust at the riser.

Has anyone tried this before? Engine will run at 1500 rpm and be at reasonabley low load "

If you haven't already tried it, you might be able to find a "marine" engine using the same basic block and order a manifold that will fit. Good luck. "
