The Only way oil can get there is thru the Yoke Seal,...

You can either change it Now,...
Or,.. Change it Later...
Either way,.. You Will be changing it..."

"When I pressure check an outdrive I pressure test to 15 ish psi.
Even though Merc does not have a spec OMC does and it is/was 17 psi.
There are two seals in the upper CARRIER that could be at issue, One is the upper carrier (yoke) oil seal and the other is a large o-ring.

Sometimes oil will seep by the seal or oring when the outdrive is left in the full up position for long periods of time.

Still it will need to be replaced.

Also if you have the small container of gear lube at the engine and that is what you are refering to when you say adding gear lube then you should look closley at the outdrive to gimbal housing gasket to be sure you did not just have a leak at the gasket."

Did you rotate the shafts while under pressure? Sometimes the drive will keep pressure while still but starts to leak when rotated.
