I recentley went to purchace a service manual for my OMC Cobra outdrive but the newest manual only covers up to 1993 and my boat is a 1994. When did they stop manufacturing Cobras? Is my engine and outdrive one year older than my boat? Any and all replies welcomed.

"1993 was the last year for OMC only, in 1994 they entered into a joint venture with Volvo Penta. Try to find the engine model number on yours, should be on a plate on the rocker cover or t-stat housing, this will give us the year and YES it is quite common for a boat to have the previous year engine in it depending on when it was built as some boat companies start their new year production in July/Aug. For a manual also check eBay and you may find an original OMC factory manual, much better than the aftermarket ones that offer coverage for a range of years. First lets find out out for sure what year you though."
