"Thanks Charli. I've only seen pics and these are the numbers given to me. It's a 4 cylinder, it's supposed to be a 1985 140 Evinrude. I just need to make sure the parts are compatible with mine (1979) and am going by pictures (which look right)."

Maybe a 50 hp lower unit on a 140 upper??? Trying to explain a 50 model number on a 4 cylinder...

Just for my own curiosity I went and looked up 1985 140hp models. They have numbers like this:
140TLCOS, 140TXCOS, 302FTHRCOM, 302SPHRCOM, unless I missed something. Something doesnt sound right. tom"
