I tried repairing my cracked V

I tried repairing my cracked Volvo Penta 5.0L engine block with JB Weld. It is holding but I don't trust the repair. I will replace the 5.0L DP with a 5.7L engine block. It will fit. I also think the linkage and drive shaft will fit including the dual prop. Does anyone know if I am right? Any advice will be appreciated.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd bet on 'not'.

PS: If you repitch your prop, you'll will see better gas milage as well as more speed."

"If 5.7 divided by 5.0 of additional air comes through a carb, more fuel comes out to maintain the fuel/ air ratio. Only if the 5.7 has some weird difference from the 5.0 would you need to rejet.

"Volvo used both 2V (AQ200)and 4V(AQ225) carbs on their 305. If a 4V: no problem (same carb), but the 2V may be too lean."
