volvo penta 10 h.p. at max rpm cooling water turns black. at all other revs water is clean . why is this? and what causes the water to go black? thanks..

I have no idea why but your engine is not the only one; mine does it to so would really appreciate if someone posts a reply
 
The black water is soot being

The black water is soot being mixed with the cooling water.
what is going on is that the diesel is being worked to hard at max. throttle. When this happens unburnt or incomplete combustion of the diesel fuel will show as sooty exaust. when mixed with the cooling water it will appear as black water.
The cure is to
* reprop
*clean bottom
*get a bigger diesel
*dodn`t use full throttle (hull speed is hull speed)
*live with it
