"I'm looking at a 1980 Blackfin with twin TMD 40. One engine runs at 160,one at 180. Is this normal to have such a difference in temps."

"If not mistaken, this is one of the last with plate coolers, which were quite vulnerable to clogging up! However there is another aspect, and that is different in length of the cabling from engine to instrument. Try to swap the longest cable to the stb (asume that is the shortest) and se if all readings are the same. Another thing is that this engine has twin thermostats with different opening temps! Not uncommon that people when changing does a mistakeand put in two of same kind.
Normal? should not be like that! By a heatgun too and do a check!"
